Johanna Moseley
Owner / Trainer Bayleaf Equestrian
Born and raised in Lake Charles, Jo started riding at a summer camp at Le Bocage when she was 10. Camp participants received a free lesson at the end of the week, and the rest is history! Jo has bounced around between hunters, equitation, and jumpers, but found the most heart in the jumper ring. Having graduated from McNeese State University in 2022 with a degree in accounting, Jo is now Head Coach of the McNeese Equestrian (IHSA) Team she founded alongside her best friend back in 2018.
One of Johanna’s biggest passions when it comes to horses is stable management. In 2014, she signed up for USHJA’s Emerging Athletes Program, which she participated in 7 times, qualifying for Nationals twice. Nominated as a stable manager both times, she was ranked #1 in the nation after regionals in 2016 and won the Sportsmanship award while there. From there, Johanna was asked to join the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge committee, on which she is still serving. Ask her how to participate! 😉
Now raising children of her own, Johanna has put her own riding on the back burner, instead sharing her passion and knowledge of the equine world by teaching hunter jumper and equitation lessons here at Le Bocage. Jo also offers pony parties and summer camps, inspiring the next generation to follow in her footsteps!
